Growing up in a small, culturally diverse town in Oklahoma, I always had an interest in art, design and psychology. After graduating from Oklahoma State University with a degree in social sciences, I was an educator in several different states for 25 years teaching social sciences and art related subjects to all levels of education. My husband’s military and civilian careers resulted in 5-10 year locations in the Midwest and East coast with us settling near Philadelphia in 2008. In 2011, my husband’s employer offered us a two and one-half year international assignment in Asia which we enthusiastically accepted. During our expat experience, I volunteered in an orphanage for physically handicapped children and in a cat rescue. I also found time to shop in the many jewelry markets and soon developed a love for handcrafted jewelry. I started Suzanne’s Jewelry after repatriating in 2013 and responsibly source my jewelry from women owned businesses who are my friends; each small shop employs 5-10 full-time women and men. My business focus is the wholesale market selling to boutiques. I am happy to have grown Suzanne’s Jewelry to a well-established enterprise that offers my wholesale and retail customers an extensive selection of unique pieces.
